Six questions worth asking before you pay for help with a property tax appeal, each answered by a homeowner in a public review, in their words rather than ours.

01 · The one who almost didn't sign up

“Is it too cheap to be real?”

“I was hesitant because it was so inexpensive, but I figured I had nothing to lose. The process was easy, and they ended up saving me a good amount this year. I'd definitely use them again.”
Kaylin C. · BBB review · Jul 16, 2026 (opening sentence trimmed)

02 · Switched from another company

“Why not just pay a percentage?”

“… I also like to see the fixed fee pricing model as an option. As property taxes and appeals get more expensive, paying 25+% of savings starts to become too big of a commitment”
John N. · BBB review · Jul 15, 2026
“I used a different property tax assistance company in the past, and I find Abode to be much more thorough, communicative, and they have a great portal where you can see everything at once. Happy to recommend.”

Two that aren't all praise

03 · The one who wanted more updates

“Will I know what's going on?”

“Abode did their core service extremely well, saving me a lot of money on my taxes. If you are the set it and forget it consumer, they are perfect. If you like to be updated on the process as it goes, they still have a lot of opportunity to do better. They don't give any notifications along the way which made me nervous. But, given the outcome, I'm still going to use them again.”
Theresa S. · Trustpilot review · Oct 13, 2026

04 · The one who hoped for more

“What if I don't save much?”

“The entire experience was automated and very smooth. Any email I sent was responded to promptly and accurately. Although they didn't save me as much as I had hoped, I did save some money and I believe that was by virtue of the circumstances and in no way reflective of their efforts. Highly recommended.”

05 · The one who signed up their parents

“Is it worth it outside a big city?”

“I signed my parents up, who are from rural missouri, after a referral from coworkers … although we had low expectations on getting high savings in rural Missouri, abodemoney's team has been easy to work with and it's been an educationaal process for me and my parents”
Abbie · Trustpilot review · Sep 14, 2026 (a retired plan name trimmed)

06 · Second year and beyond

“Do people come back?”

“This company really saved me on my taxes last year. Super friendly and a painless process. Well worth it!”
Cody H. · Trustpilot review · Sep 1, 2026
“My experience was simple and didn't require too much effort on my end. My outcome has been favorable year over year. I'm glad with the services Abode provides.”

How we chose these reviews. We chose them to answer the six questions above, and we included two that aren't all praise on purpose. Each is copied word for word from the Better Business Bureau or Trustpilot; “…” marks a cut, and the attribution says what was trimmed.

The full picture

Not every review is five stars, and you can read all of them yourself. On October 13, 2026, Abode Money was rated A- by the Better Business Bureau, with a 3.98 average across 43 customer reviews, and 4.2 on Trustpilot across 74 reviews.

Individual results vary. Savings depend on your county and assessment. Reviews are shown word for word as posted; … marks a shortened review.

Why the rating and the review average differ. The Better Business Bureau says its letter rating is based on information including complaints from the public and data from public sources, and that customer reviews are not used in the letter-grade calculation.1

What the FTC suggests you check, on any company's reviews2

  1. Read more than one site. Look at a variety of sources.
  2. Check the dates. Watch for a burst of reviews over a short period of time.
  3. Check the reviewer. An account made to write a single review may be fake.

Before you pay anyone for help

In Texas, you can protest your appraised value yourself, or name an agent to represent you on Form 50-162.3 Texas law says anyone paid to represent you in a protest generally must be registered as a property tax consultant with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR), with exceptions such as Texas-licensed attorneys and CPAs. TDLR's public license search shows who is registered.4 Rules differ by state, so check yours.
